Tonight as you lay down to sleep
I pray God's love to softly keep
For all your dreams to gently say
How blessed your life has been today.
For though you're in my heart to stay
I'm sad that you're just too far away
God's tender arms will hold you close
For next to me, He's the one to love you most.
All I can send you is my prayer
And longings that I might be there
So, as you dream while fast asleep
Imagine when, the day we'll meet.
And then we'll hug and chat for long
Or maybe hush, cause we 'belong',
And closeness we will never miss
because together is eternal bliss.
